We have begun preparation for this years National Convention (July
24-28 in DC)! We are pretty understaffed right now, so you should
definitely visit

to learn more and get involved. Join our list, or email the point
person for one of our 4 planning working groups.
In fact, I wanted to talk to you about one of those planning working
groups. We have created a Facilitation working group to build a team
of facilitators and m-cs to help our convention run smoothly and
democratically. Our job is to find facilitators both inside and
outside SDS for plenaries, break out groups and other meetings.
There are tons of roles – rockin the mic on stage, keeping everyone up
to date about the agenda, facilitating large and exciting or small and
intimate group discussions, and much more! There is space for folks of
every experience level. We are building a team to work together and
support one another through a great opportunity.
Facilitation is an empowering experience that teaches you more about
the group and about yourself as well! It’s a great easy way to get
more involved with National SDS. Please consider facilitating and
recommending it to your friends. Help build SDS, strong and fun!
